Good Afternoon, I am a 100% Disable US Vietnam Veteran. In August 2008, I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, and in the process I lost my job. The loss of this income created extremely financial difficulties, and shortly after, all of my Credit Cards were cancelled, and I was facing Foreclosure. I had a Line of Credit with BECU, that greatly assisted, however, the payments were due on the 15th of the month. Because my only source of income is my Disability Compensation, received ONLY on the 1st of the month, I pleaded with BECU to change the due date to the 1st of the month, rather than the 15th and they refused. This resulted in monthly additional fees, late charges, and Negative Reports on my Credit. The LOC amount due, with higher interest rates, Late charges and other Fees were debited from my Account when Funds were deposited on the 1st of the month, and promptly- again on the 15th of the month, a Negative Balance was posted on my Account, because I did not have sufficient Funds. Simply changing the due date from the 15th of the Month, to the 1st of the month, would have resolved everything. However, BECU refused, imposing additional fees. Now, they have cancelled my LOC, and is demanding a full payout- despite the fact that I have made payments to this LOC for well over ten years- late, but I have never missed a payment, OR monthly payments with higher/fluctuating percentage rates. This is definitely wrong, and I strongly urge all consumers to make sure, that you absolutely get a "DUE DATE" that is flexible. I do not know why they have refused to change the due date. One thing is for sure- The Boeing Employees Credit Union is NOT A PEOPLE BANK as they claim. These Institutions are all the same- simply about making money- using the very little that you have to gain Capital. I am completely taken a back- at a loss, as to why they have refused- time and time again to simply change the due Date. Once more, I urge all Consumers to insure that your Due Date on LOC, Car Payments etc., are flexible- allowing you to simply make payments when the Funds are available without imposed higher percentage rates, late Fees, and additional Charges. Despite the fact that I have paid- every single month- they are demanding a FULL Payout. This is wrong. Why do they simply rob those of us that do not have much. It is a Shame. Please help. Thanks!
