I got a divorce in Mar. 2010, at which time I needed a place to live. A home we had rented, I got in the divorce, so when the lease was expired in June, I took up residency and applied for a Mortgage Modification with Bank of America, to allow me to stay in that home. I qualified in every way. That was now over 6 months ago. When I called, every other day, I was told it was in underwriting, or review, or someone would call me back, which they do not, or to call back or they needed more info which I always provided. This went on for over 5 months. I called the government line to help mortgages that are in trouble. They called BOA with me on the line and got the same run around I was getting. When I tried to call them back I got no return call. Then I filed a complaint with the OCC. Someone from BOA called me and said it was under review. She gave me two phone numbers to call, which I did, and only got voice mails that do not call back as promised. I have to make house payments of $2300 including taxes and insurance. It has been a terrible struggle. First they said 30 days, then 60 days, then 90 days, now they are starting over. I am told now to wait another 60 days. Isn't 6 months enough? Can anyone help me get BOA to fulfill their commitment to the Mortgage Modification Program?
