Mr. Seidel:
My husband purchased a deluxe "Ultimate Retreat" spa package online from A Bella Spa in Homosassa, FL for $285. I contacted the spa to schedule an appointment, and I was told that I had one month to use the gift certificate, but they were not able to fit me in within that month, and to have my money refunded I would need to contact the previous owners. I was given the phone number and I left a message detailing my situation and requested a refund. She said if I had a problem to call her back. I did not receive a return phone call nor a refund. I then contacted PayPal and filed a dispute, and still have not had the situation resolved.
The problem, you ask? The spa was owned by the same individuals that own Blue Stone Realty, after they had the transfer to new ownership the “Blue Stone” people never closed their PayPal account listed under A Bella Spa. However, they are still continuing to collect money on transactions.
I am absolutely crushed by this whole ordeal. It may not seem like a huge deal to most, but I am a teacher with four children to support. My husband worked extra jobs to get me this Christmas gift. We do not make purchases such as this for ourselves. My husband felt that since I just finished working very hard and graduated with my Master’s degree while taking care of a two and three year old, I deserved to be pampered for a day. Not only do I not get to do this, I am now out of $285 that fraudulent people are benefiting from. After speaking with new owners, I am aware that I am not the only person this has happened to. How long do these people get away with this?
I am getting nowhere, and would appreciate anything you could do to help, even if it is just getting the word out that these are not trustworthy people.
