On September 14th I settled on a condo. I had it inspected and all was fine. I didn't move in til October but was bringing things over weekly. I came to the place at the end of September with boxes and there was a roofer on the roof. asked him why and he said he was repairing a leak. I never called in a leak. It was hidden. I called the HOA and they didn't tell me who called. I came to find out it was the previous owner who never disclosed it. the roofer claimed to have fixed the roof on that day. I moved in on October 13th and started becoming ill on the 17th of October I checked out everything I could by blood tests and all came bk fine. I was convinced it was mold from the leak. I called the HOA, they wouldn't check. It rained very badly October 25th and I noticed the wall in my room buckling. I called the HOA and was told the roofer would come out again because they missed a spot. and that they would send the handyman to fix my wall. I was worried about the mold situation still. the handyman came out and as he started to scrapt the wall, his fist went thru because it was soaking wet. I then called in a mold specialist and on November 4th got a 31 page report back that I had unhealthy black toxic mold which was airborne that should be remediated yesterday. I called the HOA and still they denied it and would not do anything. I tried to get a lawyer but it was too expensive for me and now I am left with having to get it all taken care of on my dime. The remediation started today and when the drywall was removed there was black mold all over the wood and studs and drywall that is clearly not my responsibility but the associations being its the common area and this is a condo. I am at my wits end, still sick and am in thhe process of paying for it all myself. I will take them to small claims court when all is said and done but it isn't enough. Its the priciple of the thing. The Hoa are lying about their resonsibility and I am stuck fixing everything. PLEASE HELP.
