Jacobs Engineering Group and WageWorks Complaint

Billion dollar corporation stole $540 from my paycheck

- Pasadena, California
In short, my hard earned money, money taken from my hours worked, was taken by Jacobs Engineering Group (Jacobs) after they laid me off. Jacobs is not giving it back to me and has even ignored my e-mails of proof that it belongs to me.

I was told from a Jacobs representative that I would never lose my WageWorks account balance since it is my own pre-tax money that I am saving up for public transportation expenses. After 3 satisfactory years of employment with Jacobs, they laid me off (placed on unpaid “Convenience Leave”) with the intention of bringing me back when there is more work available. No work became available. Obviously, I assumed that my account would be safe and ready when needed again for public transportation ( i.e. when reinstated at Jacobs or hired by another company). Apparently, without my notification, that was not their intention.

WageWorks closed MY account and gave MY balance to Jacobs. Jacobs Engineering Group and WageWorks have ignored my emails for a request for my balance back. I have even sent e-mails to Jacobs’ Audit Committee and Board of Directors’ general mailbox, all of which have been ignored. I am surprised that any company, especially one of Jacobs’ prestige and size, would steal a fellow former employee’s hard earned money, especially a balance of $539.35.

I feel this is illegal and just plain unethical. Please help my case.

Thank you!
