Bellach's Rocklin Leather Furniture Complaint

Duped by Bellach's Rocklin, California - Furniture

- Rocklin, California
On August 4, 2007, we purchased a leather sofa and love seat from Bellach's furniture in Rocklin, California. The sofa was special ordered from a Canadian manufacturer. The
store required a 50% down payment, or $1,350. We were told to expect delivery on or before October 4, 2007. We contacted the store in September to confirm delivery and was told that delivery would not occur until November. We contacted the store again in November and was told to expect delivery in December. When December arrived, we contacted the store and was told to expect furniture in late December or early January. It is January 10, 2008, and no furniture has arrived. Sales staff are very uncooperative and unwilling to provide information or take any follow-up action to determine status of delivery. They are smug and act as though they know nothing! We asked one employee whether there was any way to track our order and he stated he would have to have the general manager call Mr. Bellach. At one point, a store representative told us the delivery truck had left the manufacturer, but he didn't know where it was.

We spoke to the store district manager to resolve delivery status with no success. He failed to return calls as promised and when he did return calls, he refused to make a commitment to resolve the matter. He contradicted what he told us, essentially lying about promises to either deliver furniture or refund deposit. Subsequent to that, on Tuesday, January 8, I contacted the district manager to commit him to providing information on the whereabouts of our furniture. He agreed to contact me on January, either way, with some answers and did not. As of January 10, he has yet to return my call.

They have refused to refund my deposit. My furniture is three months overdue and there seems to be no hope to resolve this matter with Bellach's!

Dispute your charges with your credit card company. Tell them you want them to reverse the charges on the grounds that the store never delivered the item you charged on your card. File a complaint with the BBB and also send your story to all the consumer action lines of the media - newspaper, TV, radio. Bellach's did the same thing to me last year. They are scammers! Stay away from them!

I'm dealing with the same situation. Currrently the manager and salesperson are tag teaming and playing games with regards to canceling my order. Each one says I need to talk with the other. Store Manager was beyond rude and would not do anything, including cancel my order, to help me. I'm beside myself and can't believe we put 50% down. I'm going to move forward with a formal BBB complaint and have my attorney contact them for a refund. Don't know what else to do.

I've had the same runaround as well. Ordered a sleeper sofa in October which we needed for Christmas. Needless to say, we've yet to receive anything. I've just reversed the charge with my credit card company and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

They flat out lied, blaming the delays on the manufacturer. I went so far as to get in touch with the credit manager at the manufacturer who told me "If a company in the Bay Area *whose account was in good standing with us* placed an order in October they would have had their furniture in November." Bellach's has since been removed from the manufacturer's site (American Leather/American Upholstery) as an available dealer.

They claim to have canceled my order, but I got tired of waiting for the refund to come (isn't it amazing how they're able to *charge* my card the day of the sale, but it takes weeks to process a refund?!) so I'm letting my credit card company go after them.

Steer clear of Bellach's.

Same Story here, Order a couch in Mid September, Promised a mid December delivery. It's now Feb. 23rd and no one including the General Manager has any idea where the couch is, if it's been manufactured, let alone ordered and we put down 50% ($2250) for the couch. I've been patient to this point (especially considering this couch was to be a pivotal piece in a showroom for my business and the lack thereof has cost me more than the couch itself. Researching Bellach's commitment to the customer I have found many sites like this one with many complaints. All I can say is keep on them, make life as hectic as possible for them so that they know and everyone else gets wind of the terrible service and complete lack of follow thru within this company.

Bellachs is in bankruptcy. They have stolen commissions of their employees. Don't give this company any of your money. You will never get your furniture and you will never see your money again. These people are criminals.

Bellach's was flipped into Chapter 7 today per an e-mail I received from an employee.
