My husband and I were happily engaged a little over a year ago. We wanted to plan a beautiful wedding and document it professionally. My husband really wanted to get a photography package that included video and albums. We had friends who used MGA Photography and Video, they seemed happy with them. So, Joe Montalvo came to my house with albums and sample video. It seemed too good to be true. He seemed to be professional. He took a deposit of $2000 that day and would get the balance the night of the wedding.
Fast forward to August 3rd. He arrived to my house late with a teenager that he was training. This teen was shooting the video. Due to his tardiness he missed important shots of the bride and groom with our families etc. He even showed up to our reception late. This threw off the timing of the event and caused many to leave before all of the activities were complete. We paid him the balance of $2395 that evening and he gave us a disc with the pictures that he took that day. Many guests said that he was walking around showing them the pictures that he took for the day instead of taking pictures of the guests.
I contacted Joseph Montalvo 6 weeks later to find out the status of our video and to seek direction in regards to album selections. Each time that I spoke to him he would tell me that he would deliver the video and or album in 2 weeks. I last spoke to him in December and he said that there was a problem with the albums being held up in China. Joseph will only answer my calls if they are from an unidentifiable phone number.
It's been over 6 months now and we don't have our albums, pictures or video! I recently read a story about another couple that he ripped off in 2006. He recently updated his website MGAVIDEO. COM and is still taking new clients. This just disgust me! Joseph Montalvo needs to be stopped!
