On Jan 3 2010 my husband and I were watching a commercial for a product called Bark-Off. It is supposed to discourage dogs from barking. Sounds great -- all you hve to do is push a button on the little evice and it sends out an ultrasonic signal which causes the dog to stop barking. The offer was great: Buy one for $10 and get one free. I called to order one set and they offered a second set for no additional shipping handling. It was all automated. SO I accepted the 2 set for my parents. Then they offered a deluxe model for an additonal $9.95 per barkoff. I accepted for one only. My charges were up to around $40. At the end of the order I was given a total of $48 and change. I didn't have time to go online to check and see my order. I looked at the clock and it had taken 17 minutes for me to go throught the whole ordering process. I was upset with myself immediately that I had spent so much time on this. Today I looked at my bank statement 8 days later (Jan 11) and there is a charge from Bark-Off processing for $161.44. I called them immediately and they said my order was still processing and that I had ordered 6 deluxe versions which added up to that cost! Now I know that was not what I ordered! THey said all I can do is wait (6 weeks!) for my order to come and then return it and wait for my account to be credited. Probably more than $20 will still be charged to me for shipping and handling! I am so mad. I don't care if the barkoff works, this company is a scam at the least and they should all be arrested and put in jail!
