In September 2009 both my husband and I were laid off (worked for same company)we were unable to pay Mortgage immediately contacted Chase they were unwilling to provide any modification and we contacted realtor who immediately found buyer (Oct 2009) and submitted all paperwork to Chase. Unable to find jobs we moved to South Carolina and remained unemployed and broke with no health insurance for 11 months.
Chase failed to respond to this offer until 9 months later (although they have continued to demand financial statements which we have immediately provided). Finally according to our attorney and realtor the negotiater verbally agreed to the offer. However he then quit and failed to put anything in writing our realtor and attorneys were unable to do anything and the buyer finally walked. Three months ago we received new offer which was within 95% of BPO. Chase requested new financials. We ultimately had to move out of state again (Ohio) for my husband to get a job, but our income is still much lower than it was. Four weeks ago our attorney told us that Chase said they would make decision within 14 days. Once again they lied and it is 18 months into our shortsale with no end in sightd. We have never been late on any other payments, we have no other debt we are careful with money. We can't move on with our life can't get credit cards can't buy home, even difficult to rent with low credit score!!! When will this nightmare end. We feel we have no rights and no recourse.
