HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE COMPANY WON'T PAY FOR EXPLOSION (mechanical failure) EVERY EXCUSE IN THE BOOK!
I had a investment property and had to scurry around getting insurance for the rental property just before closing - It was almost an impossible task but PETROVIC INSURANCE said they would get a "BINDER" for closing.
I had the property 8 years and it had new boilers in 2001 .
Like most new stuff - one of them failed only 7 years old.
"Pressure relief valve" didn't work while I was out of town for a couple days - I came home to black stuff exploded all over the ceiling, walls, floor and kitchen table. The radiator piece was dangling off to the side -EXPLODED
Lucky I had the water turned off because the plumber just installed a kitchen faucet and it dripped slightly and I didn't want it dripping the couple days I was away ...otherwise the Heat repair guy said I would of came home to a water fountain in my house and it would of been a complete loss.
Dale Dano from Badger Mutual -yelled at me when I was reporting the claim on March 30, 2007 - accused me of 'scaming the company because nobody has their heat fail in March when it was 70 degrees , plus I had a post office box , on and on.
The adjuster came out in a couple days during the first COLD SNAP and saw the explosion and APPROVED the claim (but wasn't sure about 'covering the ONE water line that bust and was dripping in the basement (It was isolated and capped before any water damage!)
But,in the days that followed the other radiators thawed and then cracked from lack of heat from the 'mechanical failure' - Now BadgerMutual refused to cover a dime!
I just got the official denial about a year later !
I've been paying on investment property that I can't rent , can't live in and that BadgerMutual won't pay up to fix
Its hard to find a BAD FAITH attorney that will go to trial on contigency basis - Anyone can help PLEASE LET ME KNOW !
