IN APRIL OF 2010 I ATTEMPTED TO USE MY BOA CREDIT CARD IN THE GROCERY STORE. THE CARD WAS DECLINED MUCH TO MY SURPRISE. I HAD ALWAYS KEPT MY BOA CARD UP TO DATE SO I WAS TRULY SURPRISED. I WENT TO BOA TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS GOING ON. THE BANK ASSISTANT CALLED THE CREDIT DEPARTMENT AND THEY SAID THAT MY CREDIT CARD HAD BEEN CANCELLED BECAUSE MY CREDIT SCORE WAS LOW. NOT BECAUSE MY CREDIT CARD STANDING WASN'T GOOD. I HAD WORKED SO HARD TO KEEP MY CARD IN GOOD STANDING, AND I COULDN'T UNDERSTAND HOW THEY COULD DO THAT. I WAS SO PISSED OFF I COULDN'T SEE STRAIGHT! THE REP HANDED ME THE PHONE AND I TRIED TO REASON WITH THE CREDIT PEOPLE BUT THEY WERE ADAMANT AND WOULD DO NOTHING TO HELP ME. SO I ASKED THE REP AND THE BANK MANAGER AND THE CREDIT CARD CREEP TO TAKE WHATEVER I OWED THEM OUT OF MY ACCOUNT AND TO CLOSE MY ACCOUNT SO THAT I WOULD NEVER HAVE TO DO BUSINESS WITH BOA AGAIN IN THIS LIFE. I WAS VERY DIRECT, CLEAR AND ADAMANT ABOUT THEM MAKING THE FINAL PAYMENT TO THEIR CREDIT CARD DEPT. HOWEVER, I NOW FIND OUT THAT THEY DIDN'T DO THEIR PART. THEY FAILED TO MAKE THE FINAL PAYMENT AND I HAVE BEEN ASSESSED SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS IN FEES THAT THEY SAY I HAVE TO PAY. I'VE EXPLAINED MY STORY TO BOA AT LEAST THREE TIMES AND THEY STILL INSIST THAT I HAVE TO PAY THOSE FEES. I REFUSE. I DID NOTHING WRONG. I'VE STATED THAT I AM MORE THAN WILLING TO PAY THE $81 DOLLARS WHICH IS WHAT WAS ORIGINALLY DUE (AND SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN PAID), BUT I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR ERROR. I DON'T HAVE THE ORIGINAL RECEIPT. THEIR RECORDS DON'T SHOW A PAYMENT. HOWEVER, I WAS IN THE BANK WITH THE REP, THE MANAGER, AND HAD THE CREDIT DEPT ON THE PHONE WHEN I ASKED THEM TO MAKE THAT FINAL PAYMENT ON THE CARD AND TO CLOSE MY ACCT. I HAD OVER $1,000.00 DOLLARS IN MY ACCT AT THAT TIME SO MONEY WAS NOT AN ISSUE. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME. I AM SO FRUSTRATED AND NO ONE IN THE BANK IS ACTING AS A CONSUMER ADVOCATE. FRANKLY, THEY JUST DON'T GIVE A HOOT! THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES!!
