Signed up today and after further research about the company I decided to cancel the contract. NYS law states you have 3 business to break any contract. Chuck from America's Best Meats was beyond rude to me. I asked for my check to be returned and he hung up on me. I called back and he screamed into phone REQUEST DENIED and hung up again. I called my bank to place stop payment on check. The fact that this company feels that they have the right to decide to follow NYS law or not is unjust and someone needs to put a stop to them.

The only thing that was "unjust" about the whole incident is that I went to an appointment that was CONFIRMED the previous evening to have both husband and wife present and the wife didn't even have the decency to be there. When I arrived, I tried numerous times to re-appoint the meeting so I could have both parties present so they could BOTH make an INFORMED decision. "NO no no, I can do this without her, but she should be back in 10-15 minutes... Just ran out to pick up something for the baby" was his response. Against my better judgement, and TOTALLY against company policy, I proceeded `to do the presentation thinking Mrs. would catch up when she returned. BIG mistake. Mr. was very pleasant and attentive and after spending in excess of an hour and a half with him explaining in detail EXACTLY how the service works, taking the time to put together a very custom, piece by piece order, and completing all the paperwork, HE made an INFORMED decision that this was the quality service that he wanted for his family. About 2 hours later, Mrs. calls the office to cancel the order. Mind you, she knows NOTHING about the service. What took me, after doing this for over 20 years, and spending over 90 minutes to explain to Mr., I'm sure he got exactly the point of the service across to his wife in the 5 minutes it probably took him to explain it. As far as hanging up on Mrs. (I did say good bye first) I'll admit that that was not a professional thing to do, and for that I will apologize, but I'm sure most if not all could understand the frustration of driving over an hour to get there, spending over an hour and a half thoroughly explaining the service, driving back to the office and finishing the paperwork only to have a TOTALLY uninformed spouse call to cancel an order that I KNOW if she were there to see everything first hand would have accepted the order and started enjoying the finest all natural meats available from the best service out there. Posted by brettserxner on 11/13/2009 I was scammed by the company as well. I am fighting with the financial company because of an over $2000 bill for a Freezer I was told was free. I am looking to find other customers with the same issue to raise a law suit. Please contact me if you have the same or similar issue.
