Nam Automotive Repairs Complaint

Auto repair shop uses my car for road trip

- Florida - Orlando, FL
I am just another woman who has been taken advantage of by the auto repair business. Although it wasn't a pricing issue or telling me my car had more wrong with it than it already did. On Feb. 16, 2010 my car had a leak. I get it towed on Feb. 18 to where my "friend" works at Big 10 Tires by their towing company. He tells me that my 03 Cadillac CTS has probably blown a head gasket...not good. He keeps it for a day to see if possibly it wasn't the heads. I get a call the next day with some bad news. Gaskets are blown but he knows someone who can fix it for me that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg. With money being tight I went to his guy. Big 10 prints up a receipt for the towing charges and on this receipt the miles on my vehicle was 61,254 and my car gets towed to his buddy's shop on Feb. 23. Well, 2 weeks later on March 9 I finally get my car back. What a great feeling...but something doesn't look right. My car now has 61,855 miles on it. What could they have possibly done to put on 600 miles on my car in 2 weeks. I contacted my "friend" at Big 10 and the people at the auto shop. Only response they can give me is that's not possible. Well, I now have an extra 600 miles on my car that I didn't put on it. I am furious and I want to be compensated for every mile they put on my car. And who knows how many other people they have done this to. It can't happen again.
