We had service with AT&T for internet only, at $40 a month. Then, my husband called to initiate a land line as well. That was October 2009. Since then, we have been billed twice. And yes, it was stupid of me to not catch that error. But those AT&T bills came at different times and I never caught it! But today I did see the problem and called AT&T. They said that they never canceled the internet only service, as they should have. However, they could only credit me for three months. Not the 17 months that I paid twice! Why? The only reason I kept getting was "we can only go back three months". In addition, they said that it was my "negligence". I should have made sure that they canceled the service. Needless to say, I am outraged. Not only all that, but I called and spoke to three different agents, all of whom took my name and said their supervisor would call me back. Guess what? I never heard from ANYONE. And you can never call the people back who help you....they are scattered all over the country..and different call centers. In addition, when I inquired (nicely) what the procedures were to submit a customer complaint, I was given the same exact answer.."my supervisor will call you back". They stole $680 dollars from us !! And they are laughing all the way to the bank, blaming me for being so stupid as to trust them !!
