In 2002 I purchased a new 225 hp suzuki two stroke outboard motor from Atlantic Boats of Wareham MA. In less than a year the first power head let go. I specify the first one because in the next two and a half years it blew three more power heads. The outboard was never a dependable motor that you could bring your family with young children out on the water with. I purchased a new motor so I could do just that and was unable to. Atlantic Boats kept on saying that bad fuel was the problem the whole time. First they claimed thier was water in the fuel . then they said the octane wasn't high enough.
I even started putting in higher octone fuel but still blew another powerhead. I have several boating friends, commercial and recreational and we all use the same gas station. They all have outboard motors and none of them has had a fuel problem. I spent $12,ooo and four years with nothing but headaces and now have nothing. Can someone help me, tell me who to contact, or should I just give up and believe that this is the way of the big buisness controlling the small consumer.
Thank You for your time.
