Dish TV Complaint

Before I could figure out how to hook up my brand new TV I could only get 5 TV stations, and they were awesome in HDTV. Clear, crisp, but the amount of channels lacked and I don't know much about house antennas, so I paid for DishTV.

Strangely, upon hooking up my cable, none of the channels were that awesome HDTV look! Not even the 5 channels that I could get WITHOUT the Satelite dish! So, when I wanted to watch those 5 awesome channels, I would switch off my dish satelite, and my 5 channels would be awesome again!

So, my concern is, Dish TV purposely sends us crappy signals. They do it so that people upgrade to High Definition! BIGGEST RIPOFF! Is this fair?
