Last year in June of 2010 we came back from a cruise and found our diningroom cieling leaking through a light fixture from a storm. We contacted HIPPO roofing of Melbourne to help us and get a new roof. They convinced us to let them use DRI Rite to come in with thermal imaging cameras to find the damage so they could use their indipendant contractor( claims adjuster) to get the money needed to get our roof fixed. They were estimating the damage on the inside to get the money for the roof. They estimated over 17 thousand dollars in damage and our insurance co ssaid no way. After 7 months of them not getting anything done, their claims adjuster did a three way call with myself to get ahold of the insurance co. which wouldn't take their calls. The adjuster spent 1 hr. talking with the insurance co and was very mad when he found out they were only granting 5 thousand( 4 thousand after the deductible) As of May this year Hippo told us it would be 17 thousand to do our roof..we could not get a loan that large so we asked for our share of the check minus their 25 percent. The final check cut by the insurance was for 4,338.08, their 25 percent should have come out of that. But instead they took it from the amount before our deductible and took over a thousand dollars of our money on top of the 25 percent they should have gotten from the check I took to them. I did all the running and constant phone calls for over a month. Everytime telling me they had mailed the check out. My husband works full time and I am on disability with 1 child still in school. Is there anything anyone can do for us before my roof falls in? I sit and worry and cry almost every day worrying about this....please help. Sincerely Allison
