We purchased a Kitchen Aid Dishwasher with the intent of receiving a #100 rebate from the California Cash for Appliances program. We were told by Lowe's Roseville, CA that the model we purchased was covered by the program. We submitted and received a notice from the program that our model did not qualify. We went to the California Cash for Appliances web site and verified that the model number we purchased was listed as "qualifying". We re-submitted everything along with a letter referencing our first submital. We subsequently received another card stating that the model did not qualify. We tried several times to call and gave up after hours on the phone waiting for someone to answer with no result. We went to visit family back east and upon return were told that the program was closed giving us no recourse other than "rejected rebates are in review" hoping that ours gets reviewed by someone who goes far beyond just "Oh that was a good reason".
