Saturday, November 12 anne arundel county water main broke on the main road next to our house. We got 16 inches of water in our basement. Our couches were floating and our basement is now completely devastated. We took all the necessary steps with our home insurance only to find out that they will not be covering anything at all! We have made attempts to pursue our claim with anne arundel county and have not heard anything back because they need to research if they are liable. Meanwhile we have an 8 month old baby that could potentially get respiratory problems from the mold that is growing. We went without hot water for days until we were forced to pay out of our own pockets for a new water heater. We currently still don't have heat and the nights are getting colder. We are forced to huddle as a family in 1 room at night with 1 electric heater to stay warm. There is an estimate of 30,000 to 40,000 dollars in damage and repair to our home. I may be forced to open and max out several credit cards to pay for repairs which will put us in complete financial ruin!
