The company, gotmyfare.com Travel and Tours is a full service company that specialize in arranging tour packages in South America. Sometime in the first week of March 2011, my sister forwarded an advertisement for "Beauty & Wonder of South America: Brazil, Argentina & Peru" for $2399. My sister had previously used this company so I did not hesitate to book immediately as there a deadline to get it at that rate. They provided airline booking and day to day itinerary and then charged my credit card for $2748.
On April 16, while looking for some ideas on expected travel at the tripadvisor.com website, I was shocked to see an enclosed announcement that gotmyfare.com is in the process of filing bankruptcy. I immediately went to their website and true enough.. the announcement that they are filing for bankruptcy and that is all I saw. They sort of shut down their website
When I checked the airline reservations, they were canceled already. It is my belief that they knew already in advance that they were filing for bankruptcy and yet they advertised a low priced tour package to entice people to sign up so that they can charge customer's credit card.
I believe that there are many victims out there. If you want documentation, I will send it to you. If you go to tripadvisor.com website, you will find several complaints against gotmyfare. com
