American Online Complaint

Widowed Aunt stung by American Online - Internet Connection System

- Internet Services
My aunt has been charged close to $300.00 for a membership that is difficult to tract down. They billed her on her bank debit card(which has never been used for this purpose). Somehow, I think it is AOL connected because I lived with her for approximately 1 year in 2003 and used her computer to get a month subscription free. I have three confirmation letters from AOL canceling that account but they continue to harass. I have called AOL and get no information and I have called WC HOME Place and WC Value Plus to see if this might be a connection to AOL to find out absolutely nothing. The number on the letter my aunt received was 1-800-475-1942 and 1-888-566-8640.

I consider this fraud and my aunt (72 years old) believes it is a scam as well. She is obtaining a new debit card from her bank and her bank is trying to get to the bottom of this but I thought you might be able to help.

Respectfully submitted,

Linda
