American Airlines Complaint

Noticed when booking that if you search a fare as a single adult versus adult + child there are two completely different fares. The single adult traveler is offered a significantly cheaper fare than an adult traveling with a child on the exact same flight. This is not for a lap child. It is for a full fare paying child over 2. Wonder why the airline would choose to penalize family travel.
