Alliance Trust Inc Complaint

I received a letter in the mail along with a check for 4,870.50. The letter stated that it was a home improvement grant sponsored by many many well known business's such as mcdonalds , home depot, starbucks etc... And that all I had to do is call to activate this check and minus the fees they would then send me a check that was sitting in escrow for 38,000. I did not fall for this but please make people aware, it is a very real check, I suppose I could cash it but then I would owe. I think it is pathetic the ftc lets this happen to people that need it enough to even think about cashing it.
