US Air Complaint

I purchased a vacation package for my children, our au pair (at the time) and myself for four nights at Atlantis in the Bahamas. Since I purchased the vacations (hotel, airfare, meal plan) our au pair suddenly left our family and went home to Germany. I am attempting to change the name on her ticket to bring a new adult to help with the children (fully aware and willing to pay any change fees, upcharges in flight costs etc). US Air is unwilling to bend their poilcy of not changing the names on tickes and will only issue credit in our former au pair's name even though it is clear that I paid for the origional ticket.

I just want to apply the credit (less any change fees) toward a new ticket). Please help.
