United Airlines Complaint

Airline delay in progress - Transporation

- O'Hare Airport, Chicago, IL
United Flight #958 was set to depart for London yesterday at 4:17 P.M. The plane sat on the tarmac in the 90+ degree heat for about two hours (with one cup of water and a bag of pretzels for each passenger). Then it was announced that the flight had been delayed until 9:15 P.M. The plane was loaded around 10:00 P.M. but the crew was late. Passengers were then told it would be "illegal" if the crew flew the route. So the flight was cancelled around 10:30 P.M. United refused to give the stranded passengers their luggage, so they had no toiletries or fresh clothes. An uproar ensued and the police were called. The police were extremely arrogant and rude and threatened to arrest passengers. One policeman told passengers to "show him a regulation" that would require the airline to return their property. But later, some passengers were allowed to retrieve their bags. The flight continues to be delayed as of this moment. Many passengers' once-in-a-lifetime vacation plans are being ruined. Airline personnel seem to be at a loss and/or apathetic, and the passengers reached the boiling point long ago. With all of that confusion, one wonders how well the planes are being maintianed. Someone might have a good evening news story from O'Hare Airport.
