My Fiance' and I are in a similar situation to a story I just raed on this site except it doesn't involve as much Money. AHSMI mortgage Company has all of a sudden after 6 years of us paying our own taxes and insurance. out ofthe blue they wanna go and pay our taxes a month before they were even due and throw an escrow on our account when we have never had one. Then they changed our monthly payment by from $988 to $1450. We have been trying to call, email write certified letters and still can't resolve the situation for over 5 months now. customer service says oh talk to tax dept, tax dept says you need to speak to customer service blah blah blah. They can't simply understand that we have always paid our own and never had an escrow. hmmmmmmm kinda funny don't ya think. so we refuse to pay the extra money monthly and asked where can we send the money they put out for escrow and to take the escrow off we don't want it and they have no idea where we can send the money they paid out for our taxes hahaha. so we told themn we were going to send our regular payments the way they should be before the just threw an escrow on us and so now they are saying we are in default because they are taking the money we are sending and putting it towards escrow and so now we have default notices and mega late fees. So now they have backed us into tryinfg for loan modification when we did nothing wrong and they cannot rectify the situation, Scam artists I'm starting to think HMMMMMMMM. I feel that since I am not the only one having this problem with AHSMI company that there is a reason they are doing this to people must be getting more interest something.
