Alex Fences, Inc. in Dade County, Florida was contracted to install a wood fence in August 2009. My neighbor and I shared the cost of the fence which was $ 2100.00. Alex Fences told me that I did not need a permit to install the fence, but if I wanted one it would cost an additional
$ 100.00 and that it would take more time before he could install the fence. The salesperson for Alex Fences said that all I needed was a copy of the property survey and that the job would still be done properly and according to code. I said ok to do it then and Alex Fence, Inc. employees came out on that Saturday to install the fence. No inspectors came to check on the job that was done, but a year later the fence is now falling down. Only one (1) post is intact. Thirty-six (36) Posts are rotted through and the fence is at the point that it is ready to fall. When contacted, Alex Fences, Inc. claims that it is their suppler's fault for selling them inferior materials and wants to charge us $ 800+ dollars to replace the rotted wood.
