33 year old quadraplegic in Shelton Washington in need of a caregiver ASAP. I pay 12-14 dollars an hour. No lifting involved.
I answered the ad. SK and I talked and he hired me. We set a work schedule and I started working. I kept asking Mr. K when payday was going to be. He kept telling me "The first of the month." The first of the month came and went. He did discharge me for a reason that he made up. This was his practice for several past caregivers. One of which told me the same thing happened to her. He also told me that the government agency that he works with frowns on him hiring his own employees and would appreciate if I didn't inform them of or work arrangement.
As I said , the first of the month came and went. In fact, several first of the months have come and gone....I have received NOTHING for the 35 hours that I worked for this liar/con artist.
His govt. agency has tried to contact him. He has been reported to the Dept. of Labor and Industries who have also tried to contact him. To no avail. S K ignores the written and verbal requests for information.
Why is it, that when a physically disabled individual is SCAMMING in this matter, that there is no course of action for the victim of his actions.
