Wal-Mart started announcing price sharp cuts of the 16GB version of the iPhone for $97 with a two-year AT&T contract.
The Wal-Mart website displays the $97 pricetag is available in stores only.
I went to Walmart on the same day news and website were advertising the new price and the employees there knew about the new price from the news not from the store management, Walmart was not selling the phone for the new price on that day.
I went to Walmart the next day, and the employee at Walmart was telling the public they were already sold out, when they never even started to sell the phone.
I went again 2 days later and the saleswoman said they were waiting for shipment of the Iphones, and I just called Walmart and I was told they only received 2 phones for that price and they don't have it anymore. Walmart websites is still showing the sale price.
I believe Walmart is only announcing the IPhone sales to make consumers to come and shop for other products at their stores.
This false advertisement is wasting consumers time and it is also affecting other businesses offering the Iphone at a regular price. I'm sure just like me other consumers are still waiting to buy the Iphones at this price, and don't want to pay the regular price anymore.
