The Richland County Sheriff’s Office this week sent out a news release saying it had arrested Midlands resident Earl Graham, 53, for filing reports accusing former chief sheriff’s deputy and now 5th Circuit Solicitor Dan Johnson of committing adultery with Graham’s wife before he was elected solicitor. Johnson told Free Times during his campaign that he’d never met Graham’s wife, and Lott said in a news release that the allegations were investigated and found to be false. Last month, Graham’s Blythewood home caught fire twice within days, the second time burning to the ground. The blaze is being investigated, and Graham says it was arson connected to his complaints. Diop Kamau, the president of PoliceAbuse, a Florida-based law enforcement and police misconduct watchdog group that is investigating the case, says Graham is being smeared. “The reason we’re involved is that there’s an orchestrated campaign to shut him up and that’s not legal,” Kamau said, adding that he’s asking for a major investigation by a federal agency. — Corey Hutchins, Free Times

Please note: Columbia South Carolina's Sheriff Leon Lott gained national media attention when he tried to arrest 8 time gold metal winner Michael Phelps.
Sheriff Lott's desperate attempt to smear Graham became evident and obvious. Leon's efforts to save face and shut Graham up lead to a search warrant two weeks ago. Sheriff Leon Lott solicited a local magistrate to obtain a search & arrest warrant to confiscate Graham's computers. Lott violation of Graham's fourth amendment right was blatant and bold. Graham works as an investigative reporter, Journalist and Blogger and has been working on numerous document issues of misconduct dealing with the Richland County Sheriff Department.
