My Girl-friends Son had a low tire.
I told him before heading out I will add additional air to it then told to drive it to Les Schwab for a simple tire repair. I filled it and while we were filing it we noticed there was a screw in it. This should have been a simple fix because you could actually see the problem spot. I told him to drive straight there because you don't want this to get worse. He returned home several hours later with the emergency tire on his car. at first I thought he did not take my advice. but he handed me a Les Schwab slip indicating that the (bead was torn before repair) and the quote was for 4 brand new tires adding up to over $400.00.
none of this adds up
1)first I inflated the tire which should have got him there
2) why would they attempt to repair a tire which had been driven on flat
3) how would they know the bead was torn before the repair unless they took the tire off the rim
4) why would they knowing the tire had a torn bead put the tire back on the rim then try to fill the tire with air.
I sum it up to the mechanic damaged the tire and tried to hide it then didn't know what to do so told him it was damaged and he needed 4 new tires. which I might add the present tires have 70-80 percent on tread on them.
