$24 for a pizza?! - pizza

On Feb. 13, my husband and I ventured out for a noontime pizza. He raved about Ed's so we were eagerly anticipating a nice meal. With differing tastes, we ordered a large pizza, half with clams and half with onions and extra cheese. It was delicious.

The bill showed a $24 charge for the pizza. My husband paid it but I questioned the manager, who said Ed's policy is to start with the $21.95 price of the large clam pizza and then to ADD the $2 charge for the "extra" onions and cheese!

Hello? We complained that they did not provide a full serving of clams on that pizza but he would not budge. This is highway robbery and I wish I'd thought to call the cops before we paid. Can you help?

One week ago, my Mom and I went to Ed's. I ordered a steak, and even though it sucked, I didn't tell the waitress, preferring not to maker a scene. My mom called the waitress over and pointed out that the steak looked and tasted as if it had been boiled to well done, not the medium that I ordered. The waitress, popped an attitude and said I should have told her sooner. Since she could not get in touch with the boss she could not replace the steak or remove the charge.
My Mom and Dad went back to Ed's today for lunch. My Mom ordered the spaghetti and meatball, and salad bar. $7.99, The salad bar was very good. The meatball tasted like bread. She left most of it there. My Dad ordered a grilled ham and cheese, and the salad bar. Sandwich was OK. Bill came, $4.50 for the sandwich and 6.95 for one trip to the salad bar! The waitress said "it's printed right in the menu" WITH ATTITUDE $2.99 with a meal $6.99 without. My Mom called to speak to the manager. He said "you the lady who complained about the steak last week?" She said "yes". He said "We have been here 37 years, maybe you should find another place to eat". Mr wife said "We will". Never going back!
