Hi; can anyone help me? My husband and I bought a house last Oct: Our names Jeff & Nita Harville, Benton TN. We were told we would Qualify for first time home buyers rebate of 8000 dollars back on our taxes: Now my husband had never owned a home: and to qualify: that was the only stipulation: now I owned a home: but it was years: so that's not the problem: since we filed our taxes we have gotten several letters wanting more information on our past :like where did we live: if we rented our lease contracts: so we did all that: they have denied us: and we have talked to many of are friends: and they have denied all of them: my husband works with the public: sees many people daily: he has asked ; many about this: not a one has gotten a rebate: (WAS IT A SCAM?)
